What ring to buy for korean woman?

I keep trying to find some answer, but folks keep saying:”who cares?”

I’m planning on asking my GF (age 42), who has lived all her life in Korea, to marry me. I have looked up the marriage traditons here (Korea) and I’m cool with her family. They only worry about her leaving the country and will I have a stable job. But what is the correct way (culturally) to ask? Should I have cheap engagement ring with expensive wedding ring as some say is normal here, or vice-versa? Also, SHould I just buy the ring or ask her first ( I know she will say yes) and then take her to choose. Koreans out there… help?

Not knowing a great deal about Korean wedding customs, I would suggest asking someone in her family what is typical there. After all, you say you know the family and they like you.

For my part, though, I have to say I think if that ring is going to be on her finger for the rest of her life, she should have some say in what it looks like, or even whether she wants an engagement ring.
