What are some good ways to meet other singles?

I’m newly single, and pretty much never been single before. I went from my parents to my husband, and now I’m divorced. So I’m learning the ropes…. Where can I go to meet people? Make friends, and maybe find someone interesting…

Volunteer somewhere, its rewarding and maybe you’ll find someone who isnt completely self-absorbed.
Speed-dating, thats always a choice… Not my first one.
take a class at a local college or university, granted you may not find anyone in your current relationship status, but other singles may be helpful….
