Would a Catholic women marry outside their religion?

I am very attracted to Italians and Latina women. I can’t put my finger on it, but I have always been attracted to women of this cultural descent more than others. However, I am not Catholic, and am generally cynical towards organized religion. Most of these women I meet are Catholic, and though they have varying degrees of faith, identify strongly with their church. Would I be expected to convert to Catholicism to win over the family of a Catholic woman, or are Catholics these days more open about these things?
